EMG / NERVE TESTING

EMG/Nerve testing is a diagnostic procedure performed to measure muscle and nerve function. The testing evaluates the health and function of  your nerves. It can determine if nerves are being pinched as they travel the path from the spine to the arms and legs. If they are, it can establish where and to what degree.

The test consists of 2 parts, the EMG – Electromyography, and the NCS – Nerve Conduction Study. During each part wavy lines called waveforms appear on a screen and on paper. These help show how well your nerves and muscles work. This helps Dr. Surasky plan more effective treatment for your condition.
